Colleague Relations Analyst

Job Summary

The Colleague Relations Analyst role provides expert consultation on colleague relations matters while partnering with HRBPs to effectively support their client groups. Through collaboration with HRBPs, the Colleague Relations Analyst helps navigate complex workplace issues, strengthen team effectiveness, manage organizational risk, and foster an inclusive, respectful, and high-performing work environment.

The Colleague Relations Analyst serves as a subject matter expert on colleague relations matters such as workplace concerns, policy interpretation, investigations, leaves of absence and ADA accommodations, and compliance with employment laws. The Colleague Relations Analyst conducts workplace investigations, assists with conflict resolution, guides leaders on addressing attendance and conduct issues, and ensures consistent application of company policies and employment practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Colleague Complaints

Provide impartial review of concerns raised by colleagues about workplace issues, treatment, behavior, or policy violations.  Educate leaders on types of colleague concerns to escalate to Colleague Relations.

Workplace Investigations

Conduct thorough investigations by gathering facts, interviewing involved parties, and determining what occurred when concerns or allegations are raised.  Make recommendations to leaders for appropriate resolution.  Document all steps of the investigation process.

Corrective Actions

Guide leaders on how to address attendance and conduct concerns in a fair, consistent, and legally compliant manner. Partner with leaders on attendance and conduct matters to evaluate risk, review documentation, and ensure employment decisions are handled consistently.

Employment Actions

Assist Director of Colleague Relations in the investigation and response to federal, state and local level discrimination complaints.  Participate in the management of civil lawsuits including but not limited to document collection, EPL notification and litigation holds.

Policy Interpretation and Employment Practices

Identify emerging and high-risk employment practices and ensure ArchWell Health’s compliance.Collaborate with HRBPs to ensure consistent application of company policies, employment practices, and employment law requirements across all roles and locations

Leave of Absence and Accommodations

Serve as subject matter experts to leaders and HRBPs on matters relating to managing leave of absence and accommodation situations.  Advise on the interactive accommodation process.

Workplace Conflict Resolution

Provide coaching and guidance to leaders and HRBPs in resolving workplace conflicts and restoring productive working relationships. 

Ethics and Compliance Concerns

Investigate reports of misconduct, policy violations, retaliation concerns, and ethics complaints from the ArchWell Health Compliance Line. Inform Compliance team of resolution of reported concerns.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation

Identify potential legal, compliance, or colleague-relations risks and recommend actions that protect both colleagues and the organization. Report on trends and recommend policies, training and colleague initiatives to address areas of concern.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or related field and 2-5  years of Human Resources experience with a strong emphasis on colleague relations. 
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and managing sensitive employee concerns.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Multi-state employment law experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including:
    • Title VII
    • ADA
    • FMLA
    • ADEA
    • FLSA
    • PWFA
    • State leave laws
  • Excellent investigative, interviewing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and coach leaders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational and case management skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to company locations as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and in writing.
